Wings

MORE INFORMATION
Buff's Pub, 317 Washington St., Newton Corner. 617-332-9134. [Get directions].

Wing Kings, 314 Spring St., West Roxbury. 617-323-6678. [Get directions].

Buff's Pub in Newton is almost as well-known for the huge buffalo head adorning the wall as for its killer wings. The clientele is an interesting mix of business people unwinding after work, families with children, and barflies who are as much a fixture as the aforementioned head. All jam the tiny bar for the honey hot wings. Spicy, sweet, and even better when slathered with blue cheese.

Compared to cozy and homey Buff's, the just opened Wing Kings in West Roxbury is plastic and characterless. But its regular buffalo wings manage to be fiery without being fatal (the flavored wings still need some work, though).
