Forget about over-complicated pizza with too many fancy toppings to choose from. The only thing that belongs on top of a pizza aside from cheese and pepperoni is a little grease to help it go down easy. Santarpio's Pizza serves a no-nonsense pie that isn't too greasy and isn't too fancy. We recommend ordering a pizza with extra garlic and sticking around awhile to enjoy the Sinatra, not to mention the local character (and characters).
There's nothing fancy about Harry O's pizzeria on Washington Street, across from the Cathedral of the Holy Cross in the South End. Canned mushrooms as a pizza topping sort of sum it all up. But they do deliver, and not just in their own neighborhood - they'll find you in Roxbury, downtown, or the Back Bay. The calzones and salads are more of the same no-nonsense fare.
