Victims of the Boston flights
American Airlines Flight 11
Robin Kaplan, 33, of Westborough: Equipment specialist for TJX. Kaplan was traveling to California to help open a new store. She had been scheduled to take an earlier flight, according to her brother, Mark. She had thrown herself into work after a battle with Crohn's disease. Her mother, Francine, also works for TJX.
Barbara Keating, 70, of Palm Springs, Calif.: A native of Framingham. She was visiting two of her sons and their families. She was the former director of Big Brother/Big Sister of Middlesex in Framingham. "She still had a lot of Irish in her," said Paul Keating, her son. "She was pretty feisty."
David Kovalcin, 42, of Hudson, N.H.: Senior mechanical engineer for Raytheon Co. He was headed to company meetings in Los Angeles. He had a passion for hiking in the White Mountains. He leaves his wife, Elizabeth, 37; and two children, Rebecca, 4, and Marina, 1. He wrote a note to Rebecca before he left saying he would see her on Friday.
Judith C. Larocque, 50, of Framingham: Founder and CEO of Market Perspectives, an international research firm. Before founding the company, she served as the principal of Emergent Marketing, an executive marketing consulting firm.
N. Janis Lasden, 46, of Peabody: Program analyst for General Electric in Lynn. She was flying with her boy-friend, Donald Ditullio, to Palm Springs. The two danced every Friday night in a country and western dance group. "She was the leader and the glue that held us together," said Steve Poverman, a dance group member.
Daniel John Lee, 34, of Los Angeles: Carpenter on the crew of the pop musicians Backstreet Boys. He had been using a two-day break in the band's touring schedule to travel from their date in Boston back to Los Angeles to spend time with his wife, Kellie Lee, who gave birth to their second child two days after the tragedy.
Daniel "Danny" M. Lewin, 31: cofounded Akamai Technologies in Cambridge. He was the company's chief technology officer and a board member. He leaves his wife and two sons. Lewin was studying to get his doctorate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and once served as an officer in Israel's Defense Forces.
Sara Low, 28, of Boston: Flight attendant. A native of Arkansas, where much of her family still lives, Low moved to Beacon Hill last year and became part of a Boston-based flight crew for American Airlines.
