Restaurant review

This restaurant scores big romance points even before you step inside. As you approach the entrance, you can look across the street to the Boston Common or up the hill to the shimmering State House dome.

With its mirrored bar, brushed-metal accents, and hanging lamps that throw jewel-like bits of light, No. 9 Park creates the perfect mood for modern lovers. But though the decor is current, the service is impeccably old-fashioned. From the moment you walk through the door, you'll feel completely taken care of - so you can lavish all your attention on the one you're with.

The roast shrimp on a bed of white beans in truffle oil will have you craving seconds. The fondue is a rich, satisfying dish of pungent Gorgonzola into which you dip olive-coated and seared lamb chunks and brioche croutons.
