What could be more romantic than dessert and champagne? Well, dessert and champagne in a half-moon shaped room with soft golden walls, red velvet seats, and large curving windows that reflect the candle-lit tables. At Finale, you can take your sweet to the sweets.

"We knew that desserts were romantic in and of themselves," said co-owner Kim Moore, "so the room had to be a beautiful, romantic backdrop."

True, Finale isn't a bar, but it is a sort of dessert lounge. And one of these desserts - like the molten chocolate gateau, a chocolate cake still warm on the outside and oozing gooey chocolate inside served with chocolate sauce and coffee ice cream; or the crispy Bartlett pear tart and spicy cinnamon ice cream - is the perfect complement to a romantic evening. A glass of sherry, port, or champagne, is the finishing flourish.

And, in fact, the design and the desserts work so well, Moore said, that "people sit on the same side of the table and hold hands all the time, and even when people come in a group, they come up to me and say they want to come back here on a date."
