Restaurant review, get directions

Some may think there's too much bustle at Dali for it to be a truly intimate spot. But go there during off hours (on weekdays and Sundays): The tiles swirled with bright yellow, blue, and white, the clusters of garlic and dried peppers hanging over the bar, and the Spanish music playing in the background all conspire to make you feel transported to a romantic and exotic world. And the feeling is complete if you close your eyes and listen as the employees speak among themselves in Spanish.

From the tapas (appetizer) menu, try a generous serving of large green Spanish olives marinated in sherry vinegar, thyme, lemon and orange slices, and raw garlic; they are almost a light meal when paired with the wonderfully dense and chewy corn bread in the bread basket. The fresh, plump Spanish anchovies marinated in olive oil, parsley, and garlic or the octopus pieces marinated in olive oil, vinegar, pepper, onion, garlic, and lemon zest make wonderful companions to the olives and bread. Sip a light, crisp fino sherry or a dry but luscious rioja with your salty meal, and you and your amor will never want to leave.
