Marianne MacFarlane, 34, of Revere: Passenger service agent for United Airlines. She was traveling to Las Vegas with a coworker for a short vacation. She loved white-water rafting and Disney World. "She had probably been there 100 times," said her brother, George. She leaves her mother and two brothers.
Ruth Clifford McCourt, 45, and Juliana Valentine McCourt, 4, New London, Conn. They were looking forward to a weeklong California trip that would include a spiritual conference at the Deepak Chopra Center for Well Being in San Diego, and a visit to Disneyland. McCourt, 45, lived for years in Newton, where she opened a day spa, Clifford Classiques.
Al Marchand, 45, of Alamogorodo, N.M.: Flight attendant. He leaves his wife, Rebecca, and three children. "We all miss him and loved him," said a family friend.
Louis N. Mariani, 59, of Derry, N.H.: Former employee at H.P. Hood company. She was headed to California for a family wedding. He leaves his wife, Ellen, who took a different flight out of Boston because she got a cheaper fare, a neighbor said. She left two hours earlier than her husband.

Wolfgang Menzel, 60: Human resources director for BCT Technologies AG. He had worked at the company since last year and planned to retire in six months. He leaves his wife and one child.
Shawn Nassaney, 25, Pawtucket, R.I.: Was a sales manager for APC, a manufacturing company. He was traveling to Hawaii with his girlfriend, Lynn Goodchild. Nassaney had been at APC for three years. "He was considered a very good person and a good friend," said company spokeswoman Debbie Grey.
