On Christmas Eve my family goes to LaSalette Shrine. There is a huge nativity scene there. Sometimes we light a candle for a person who has died. I say a lot of prayers. There are water fountains there with statues of saints in the middle and we throw coins beside them. All the trees are covered with lights. Even things other than trees are covered in lights. After we're almost done there we walk up these stairs and pray on each step. When we get to the top we watch all the lights turn on. It's really neat. Then I go home and go to bed. I can never end up sleeping though.
MICHAEL ANDERSON Michael is in Donald Blackwell's fifth-grade class at Wamsutta Middle School in Attleboro. The entire class submitted traditions. LaSalette Shrine is on Route 118 in Attleboro. The lights are on daily through Jan. 3, 5-9 p.m. (until 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday).
