The Cape Cod Rail Trail
Dennis, Harwich, Brewster
The Cape Cod Rail Trail follows a former railroad right-of-way for 25 miles through the Lower and Middle Cape, in the towns of Dennis, Harwich, Brewster, Orleans, Eastham and Wellfleet. Its smoothly-paved surface (adjacent to a gravel surface), makes it ideal for cyclists, equestrians, walkers, in-line skaters, and runners. [ Find out more ]

Nickerson State Park
Brewster
This 1900-acre state park in Brewster has 420 campsites spread out in 7 areas throughout the park, all connected by a system of paved bikepaths as well as the main park road. The park bikepaths include several loops off into the woods which are great for animal watching and studying the landforms and vegetation of Cape Cod. [ Find out more ]

The Boston-to-Cape Cod bikeway
Through entire Cape
Starting on the Charles River, the "Claire Saltonstall Bikeway" leads all the way to Provincetown making use of marked bikepaths, backstreets, and backroads. The Eastern New England Council of Hosteling International provides maps. [ Order maps ]
