GLOBE BOOK CLUB "A Tale of Two Cities" worth another read ''A Tale of Two Cities'' by Charles Dickens should be re-read by every adult who thinks reading it once in high school was enough. That was the consensus of the Globe readers who tackled the classic Charles Dickens novel as the first selection of the Boston Globe Book Club. It was one of ten books readers named as those every informed U.S. citizen should read. Overwhelmingly, both adult and student readers were struck by the novel's relevance to modern history, though several complained of its style as dry, or the plot confusing.
