Chhandika The Cambridge Arts Council continues its Summer in the City performance series with a program of Indian kathak dance geared for children and their families. The group's style incorporates elements of storytelling. In event of rain, performance moves to the M.L. King School.

Children's Centennial Celebration In honor of its 100th birthday, the New Bedford Whaling Museum is throwing a special party just for children. The fun begins with an appearance by Ann Barrow, the illustrator of the "Big Blue" children's book, from 5-6 p.m. Bill Harley, family entertainer and silly-song specialist has 18 recordings and four children's books to his credit. He'll play his contemporary children's music from 6-7 p.m.

"Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp" Scheherazade is commanded by her king to tell him a story that will capture his undivided attention. If she fails, she must leave the kingdom forever. With a little imagination, magic, and help from the townspeople, she's able to act out a story that's fit for a king. Presented by the Lexington Players, the production is geared for ages 3 and up.
