318 Q I direct your attention to the machine gun and machine gunners shown in the picture. Who would you say is the soldier on the machine gun?

A That was my gunner.

319 Q And who would you say is the man standing next to the machine gun?

A That is myself.

320 Q And what sort of a weapon would you say you had when that picture was taken?

A If I have a weapon in my hand it is a 45, I am pretty sure. There is a situation there like my hand going across in front there. Let me take another look. I still can't think that I had anything else but a pistol and I know I did not fire that day. My pistol has not been fired in months. The position there looks like I have a weapon in my hand.

321 Q Does this photograph look like it looked after the shooting took place?

A I don't know as I even looked at the scene afterwards. I probably glanced over but didn't pay much attention. Pictures don't lie though, I guess.

322 Q Could you have been armed with a sub-machine gun that day?

A No, sir. I did not have a sub-machine gun in my possession.

323 Q Did these prisoners make any movement before the shooting started?

A There were some that started to move around as I recall.

324 Q Which way were they moving?

A There was one in particular that came toward us. He was on the left hand side. He wasn't in my territory. I had nothing to do with him.

325 Q Was there one machine gun or more than one machine gun in the yard at the time?

A I am positive there was only one. That is mounted. I am pretty sure about that.

326 Q What other members of your squad were present?

A If I am not mistaken I am pretty sure all of our squad was there. At least around there some place if they were not there.

327 Q Would you name the other members of your squad?

A Private Curtin, Pfc. Hammorski (I am not sure about the spelling), Pvt. Bryant. Incidentally, at that time I think I was a private, too, I don't know.

328 Q What members of "I" Company were there?

A That, sir, I don't know much about. We were just attached there for a few days.

329 Q Do you know what platoon of "I" Company they belonged to?

A I don't know that either. We were all messed up there.
