Continued from page 26

Testimony of: Lt. Jack Busheyhead (Contd)

182 A company headquarters was with me and we went to slightly from the first hospital and out to the right along the railroad tracks until we came down to the main entrance of the enclosure.

183 Q Were these prisoners shot in the coal yard before or after you got to the main enclosure?

183 A Before.

184 Q Were any of the men who were herded into this coal yard armed?

A A few had been disarmed. They threw away their rifles.

185 Q I hand you a picture which has been identified as Exhibit "C" and ask you if that shows a picture of the yard and the scene at the time of the shooting of these Germans?

A Yes, sir, I believe that is it.

186 Q I show you a picture, which has been identified as Exhibit "D", and ask you if that also show the same yard and same scene?

A This wasn't the scene when I saw it, sir. I just peeked in and left. When I looked they were all down. That is the same yard.

187 Q How many rounds were fired from the machine gun?

A I would say no more than 25. From what I heard.

188 Q Were any of these Germans beaten before being shot?

A Well, they weren't treated nice. They were hustled around into the groups.

189 Q Did any of them have their skull crushed by blows from a rifle or other instrument?

A No sir, I didn't see any of that.

190 Q Did the soldiers give any of the inmates an opportunity to abuse these Germans in this yard?

A No, sir.

191 Q I show you a picture identified as Exhibit "E", and ask if you are familiar with that scene?
