Fenway land rush
With the Red Sox committed to building a new park adjacent to Fenway Park, landowners in the neighborhood are hoping to obtain top dollar for their properties. Of the 10.5 acres the Red Sox need to acquire from private landowners, the D'Angelo family, owners of the Twins Enterprises souvenir empire, controls a quarter of the acreage. The city's most recent assessed values, which are normally lower than market prices, peg the cost of that land at $4.6 million an acre. At what cost Fenway Park?
