Time capsules

Compiled by Kimberly Johnson

It makes us feel a little self-conscious, this idea that folks 1,000 years from now will be dissecting who we are by what we own, admire, or cherish. Or maybe we're just fooling ourselves and they'll say "Who cares?," judging our obsession with possessions and dreams to be strictly the hooey. We prefer the former thought.

Ninety Bostonians' capsules

So take the leap with us. An eclectic mix of Bostonians have told us what they would put in a time capsule to be opened in the final days of 2999.

Click here to see them, and read their responses.

(See list of the 90 Bostonians' below)

Your time capule

Now it's your turn.

Name up to three items that you would want preserved for 1,000 years. You can tell us why, or keep it to yourself. Later this year you get to find out what everyone else put in.

Submit up to three ideas for a time capsule.
