Once mortal enemies, Noel Large (left) and Tommy Gorman now work together to try to defuse the threat of violence in Belfast. Large, raised Protestant, was an assassin for a loyalist paramilitary group and was convicted of gunning down four republicans. Gorman, raised Catholic, was interned without trial for helping build a bomb for the IRA. The men, seen near a peace wall off Springfield Road, now express regret for their past militancy.
