Bridget Sanetti

Coventry, R.I.

Bridget Sanetti's uncle had free tickets to Thursday night's concert at The Station, a neighbor said. So the 25-year-old Coventry woman went with her uncle, Richard Sanetti, and his wife, Patricia, to hear some heavy metal music.

"She was a very beautiful person, very happy-go-lucky," said Christine Rice of Coventry, a neighbor and close family friend. She could frequently be seen in the neighborhood, where she had lived with her aunt and uncle for five years, walking the family pet, a dog named Daisy. When the weather was warm — and she wasn't at her job as a career counselor at the Hillside Alternative Program in Woonsocket — Sanetti loved swimming in the family pool.

Rice, a nurses' aide at Kent County Memorial Hospital who was on duty Thursday night, said she learned later that Bridget Sanetti had gone to the bathroom in the nightclub just as the concert started. As the pyrotechnics exploded and concertgoers stampeded toward an exit, Rice said, Richard Sanetti tried to find his niece. "He pulled a few people out of the club," said Tom Sanetti, Richard's brother, who flew in from Huntington, Calif. Patricia escaped unharmed, Tom Sanetti said. But Richard never found Bridget and was finally driven back by the flames.
