HONOR, LEARN & CELEBRATE BLACK HISTORY MONTH

Black History Month is a time for celebration, education and reflection. We pay tribute to the vast and powerful contributions of Black Americans and their tremendous impact on U.S. history and our national culture. Throughout the month of February, the Globe will feature special stories, events and programming to celebrate this rich history and to support the future of Black Americans.

Each day, the Globe’s newsroom will be highlighting a notable local Black figure in our Metro section. Our new radio program, Black News Hour, will air two new episodes on February 11th and 25th. Globe Events welcomes you to join our Black History Month Film Festival with free screenings and virtual discussions happening throughout the month and to tune into our UBS Leadership Lunch Series on February 9th.

We invite you to explore these special features and the many ongoing Globe-led initiatives which amplify Black voices and celebrate their stories through the power of our journalism.

Now in its second year, The Boston Globe’s Black History Month Film Festival will honor and celebrate the lives, culture, and creativity of Black Americans through film. Both classic and new works will be made available for virtual viewing throughout the month. Each screening will also be followed by a virtual panel event with Globe writers and editors, filmmakers, and talent to provide insight and context for these stories of strength, joy, and love.
