I'm running for vice president because I want to reform the way our government works, improve our schools, help America recommit to a basic set of common values, and protect America 's working families.
I have spent 30 years in public service dedicated to these causes. Through my two terms in the US Senate, I have tried to be a thoughtful and effective legislator. I have worked on national security and defense issues and have stood with Al Gore in his efforts to cut deficits and protect our environment.
My treasure is my family - my wife, Hadassah, and my four children: Matthew, Rebecca, Ethan, and Hanna. Matt and his wife, April, have two daughters, including my first granddaughter, Tennessee.
