Question: Given the current economic climate, what are your priorities for the budget surplus and why?
>Answer: I would use the budget surplus in a fashion that is very reflective of the values, needs , and goals of the voters of the district; pay down the national debt to ensure future economic growth; ensure that Medicare remains available for the benefit of the many families who need it; a portion for retirement needs and so on. I would also poll the voters to incorporate any change or new emphasis for the use of the surplus.
