Art, 42, his wife, Joyce, and their four young children live in a house Art designed and built in Bellflower, Calif. Working full time since he was 16, Art went to night school to receive his education. He graduated with honors from Cerritos College with a degree in design technology and the University of California, Irvine has just recently awarded Art a certificate in advanced computer technologies with an emphasis in Internet Web development. In 1979, Art began working as an engineer at McDonnell Douglas, now Boeing, in Long Beach, where he is still employed. He also works as a freelance Internet Web site developer.
Involvement in the community has resulted in numerous leadership positions for Art.
