For those deported, the losses are wrenching
For the more than 1,200 people who have been detained or deported in the federal dragnet since Sept. 11, the debate about civil liberties vs. national security is more than an academic exercise. For them, plans have been destroyed and dreams crushed. As the government's aggressive investigation continues, it has generated a wave of criticism.
