Expected race day street closings Many streets along the Boston Marathon course will be closed to traffic on race day, Monday, April 17. Some streets in Boston will be closed even earlier to allow officials to set up the finish area. Here is a list of road closings by community.
BostonAll streets around Copley Square (from 6 a.m.); all streets east of Massachusetts Avenue (from 10 a.m.); and all streets west of Massachusetts Ave. (from 11:30 a.m.). Massachusetts Turnpike Exit 22 eastbound (Copley Square) will be closed at 10 a.m.
Beacon Street: from Chestnut Hill Avenue to Brookline town line (Cleveland Circle). The entire length of Beacon Street in Brookline is closed since it is part of the race's route. SuburbsBrookline: Beacon Street (Rte. 9A) will be closed Monday from approximately noon to 4:30 p.m.Newton: Washington Street (Rte. 16) and Commonwealth Ave. (Rte. 30) will close Monday from approximately 11:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Wellesley: Central Street (Rte. 135) and Washington Street (Rte. 16) will close Monday from approximately 11:15 a.m. to 3 p.m. Natick: East and West Central streets (Rte. 135) will close Monday from approximately 11:15 a.m. to 3 p.m. Framingham: Waverly Street (Rte. 135) will close Monday from approximately 11:15 a.m. to 2 p.m. Ashland: Union Street and Waverly Street (Rte. 135) will close Monday from approximately 8:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.
Hopkinton: East Main Street (Rte. 135) will close Monday from approximately 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. |
